Rise Up truly is a well rounded program that checks all the boxes: a balanced nutrition plan complete with a recipe book, help in developing realistic goals and daily support from the coaches.

“If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness”.

I came across this quote and the reality of the statement hit hard.  In January 2020, I looked at myself in the mirror and decided I needed to make a change.

It wasn’t so much my appearance; it was that I felt unwell.

I had no energy, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.  I knew I needed to do something but didn’t know where to start.  At that point, I was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated and remembered seeing Facebook posts from friends about Results Fitness and decided to check them out.

When I walked in, I didn’t know what to expect.  Would it be a bunch of super fit exercise fanatics?  Would I be able to keep up?  Did I even have workout clothes that fit? Would I start off strong and then stop going like I have so many times before?

The minute I walked in, I knew Results Fitness was different.  Looking around, there were people of all different body types and fitness levels; it was a very positive energy.  I decided to sign up for the trial month.  That was almost two years ago and today, I’m still a member AND still attend regularly!

As I was just starting out, Rise Up In 6 Weeks was already in progress. Being new, I had no idea what it was but liked seeing the headshots of those participating and their goals displayed at the gym. By the time Rise Up finished, I enjoyed reading the progress people had made and was intrigued.

Fast forward to January 2021, and I was ready to try Rise Up for myself! At first, I was a bit apprehensive. I worried if it would be some strict diet plan I would not be able to follow, too big of a time commitment or investing the time and not getting actual results.

I decided to give it a go and put all those fears aside.

Despite my biggest fears, I realized quickly that this was not a diet.  Not even close.  This is eating “real” food and controlling your portions. Once I started, I stopped worrying this was TOO much of a time commitment and instead, starting making the time to plan my meals, meal prep on Sundays and make time for my workouts, just like I make time for everything else.

Once you do it a few times, it doesn’t take much time and now, it’s part of my normal routine. What I learned was, this is very much about mindset and how you choose to make time. For example, I have a standing manicure every 2 weeks and never miss it so I try to develop that same mindset for my workouts. If I have a week where I eat too much processed food, I feel terrible.  I am now listening to my body more.

For me, Rise Up is about accountability, but more importantly, the community support. The best part is the support from the other Rise Up members.  People share recipe ideas, struggles, how they overcame them, and daily motivation to be the best version of yourself. That’s why I will continue to do it every year.  Accountability and support- those things make a huge difference.

Rise Up was so much more than what I expected. In six weeks, I lost 2 inches off my waist, was down 6 pounds, put on a tank top and didn’t cringe. The best part?  My doctor was so impressed with the drop in my cholesterol numbers she decided I no longer need medication!

My 3 biggest takeaways from Rise Up:

  1. Don’t focus on the scale.  The scale did not move much but the before and after pics tell a very different story.

  2. Consistency is key! I saw the best results when I worked out 4 times per week

  3. It’s not a diet, it’s eating real food and being realistic about portions.

Rise Up helped me accomplish ALL of that!  It truly is a well rounded program that checks all the boxes: a balanced nutrition plan complete with a recipe book, help in developing realistic goals and daily support from the coaches.

It’s important to share this the longest I have ever stuck with a fitness routine.  Ever. The reason is Results Fitness focuses on health and wellness, not fads and quick fixes.  There is no pressure, only support to stay consistent and invest in your health.  The RF coaches encourage healthy, realistic eating habits, are highly trained and always wanting to learn more so they can pass that knowledge down to all of us.

If you are looking for a program and community to help you create healthy habits and make changes in your life, check out Results Fitness and Rise Up In 6 Weeks!
