Camilla’s Story of Nutrition Coaching Glory

Before the Results Fitness Nutrition Coaching program, what was getting in the way of reaching your goal(s)?

I had a hard time with nutrition because it just wasn’t something I was prioritizing.

Like a lot of people, I fell into some bad habits during pandemic lockdown (Wine with DeWine and all the baked goods, anyone?) and had a hard time coming out of it on my own.

My diet suffered, and my fitness suffered too, as the gym I previously belonged to was a pandemic casualty. I felt really unmotivated for quite a while.

I joined Results Fitness in March 2023 because I really missed strength training, and RF is the perfect place for that!

Nutrition wasn’t even really front of mind until I actually got out on the gym floor and realized I could use all the help I could get in improving my stamina and performance.

I decided to focus on getting my physical endurance back first, then tackling the nutrition part, since that was an option with the Nutrition Program.

How did the Results Fitness Nutrition Coaching program help you overcome this stuff and succeed?

My favorite part of the program is the accountability and interaction with Coach Amie! She does an amazing job of balancing fun and friendly coaching with sound professional advice.

Personally, I thrive with a lot of structure, and this program is meant to provide goalposts, check-ins, support when needed, and opportunities to learn as you go through it.

However, if you’re a person who needs a little less structure, don’t be alarmed!

Being held accountable here means someone is checking your work and making sure you are on track, but not judging you if what you’re doing isn’t absolutely “perfect.”

Rather, it’s about committing to a change and helping you see that incremental tweaks to what you’re currently doing will get you to where you want to be.

How is your life different having done the Nutrition Coaching program and being part of Results Fitness?

Since completing this program, I’ve really found that focusing on nutrition and making small tweaks has improved my mental and physical well-being.

I feel better prepared for workouts and I’m recovering better, too! My joints are feeling good for the first time since 2021, and I feel well equipped to make choices that support my physical goals. They really are intertwined!

In 12-weeks, I improved my relationship with food and learned to prioritize fueling myself over mindlessly eating.

I’ve developed sustainable habits that will allow me to continue to see progress on the gym floor and in the dressing room.

These habits – meal planning, thinking about portions, considering macros, getting enough veggies and protein every day – are not difficult, expensive to maintain, or restrictive.

They’re just part of how I do things now!

How is the Results Fitness Nutrition Coaching program different from other programs (diets/nutrition based) you’ve tried?

This program is different from any other because there’s a strong emphasis on eating for real life instead of eating aspirationally.

What I mean by that is the emphasis is on making changes to your existing diet and recognizing that completely cutting out carbs or only eating “clean” foods is not conducive to long-term progress.

You won’t be “perfect” or “on program” 100 percent of the time, but you will learn about balance.

At Results Fitness, from day 1, I feel like the coaches treat you like an athlete regardless of your current physique or physical limitations. The nutrition program complements the work you’re doing on the gym floor.  It’s sustainable.

As someone who really likes food and loves to experiment in the kitchen, I worried that the program would negatively impact those things, but instead I found interesting new ways to prepare veggies and add protein to dishes!

It does not feel like a diet because it isn’t a diet.

What would you say to someone who is struggling with nutrition but doesn’t know what to do or where to start?

I would recommend this program to anyone because I personally saw great results from participating in it! But, more importantly, I’m still maintaining a lot of the practices I learned in the program.

Thinking about portions and balance has become a habit, which is the intent of the program!

It’s incredibly do-able, even if you think changing your eating habits is next to impossible.

And paired with the great workouts at Results Fitness, it really is a framework for positive change!
