What was your biggest fear before signing up for Rise Up?

My biggest fear was letting both myself and my coach down!

I am certainly a people pleaser by heart and heard about the success of my peers who had done Rise Up in the past and was worried I wouldn’t see the same changes. A little competitive voice in my head kept saying ‘What if you fail!

What made you decide to overcome those fears and RISE UP!?

I have been working out for years, not as consistently as I do now that I am part of RESULTS Fitness, but never saw many changes, regardless how hard I worked.

I was ready to prove to myself that my body was capable of being stronger and more fit.  I also enjoy the community feel and was encouraged to do it by fellow Results Fitness Warriors / Rise Up participants. That helped with the final push to sign up!

Before Rise Up, what was getting in the way of seeing results and reaching your goal(s)?

Before Rise Up, I wasn’t scheduling or prioritizing myself. I love to be active but something always came up – sick kid, commitment to help my kids’ school, or our family business – and these things always took the first seat.

This didn’t just stop me from making it to a workout, it stopped me from preparing nutritious breakfast and lunches as well.  Overall, I was inconsistent with my workouts and my nutrition.

How did Rise Up help you overcome this barrier to succeed?

After the Rise Up workshop where the coaches review the program and teach you how to succeed, I realized just how much effort it was going to take to change my ways.

The Rise Up program pushes you to make yourself a priority, and I was encouraged to have a conversation with my husband and kiddos (as much as they could understand) I was part of this program and why it was so important to me.

They loved supporting me through it and even made changes to their lives, too! If something stopped me from being able to exercise during the day, I would try to go to an evening workout. Results Fitness offers tons of different times and having so many options to throughout the day leaves no room for excuses.

What was your biggest nutrition struggle before Rise Up?

My biggest nutrition struggle before Rise Up was eating well-portioned meals. I would skip meals if I was busy, and then make up for those calories in not such healthy choices later on. Going through this program also made me realize I don’t eat as many veggies as I thought I did!

How did Rise Up help you overcome each struggle to succeed?

Rise Up helped by keeping it simple with recipe ideas and weekly check-ins from my very own coach! My coach pushed PREPPING yourself for success so each week I would take time to prepare for the next few days.

My coach also had the idea of setting alarms to remind me to eat. By doing so, I stayed on schedule instead of pushing my body to hold off and then gorging later in the day.

How is your life different now that you’ve completed Rise Up?

Changes I’ve made during Rise Up turned into my lifestyle!

I have stayed consistent with 4-5 workouts/week and have been mindful of my nutrition. I incorporate veggies and protein way more than I used to, and have noticed such a difference in my energy levels and sugar cravings. I have also noticed I am so blue when I don’t get my workout in!

I love my new routine and seeing positive changes in my mood and strength!

In 6 weeks I lost  5lbs of body fat, gained muscle mass and proved to myself that my body is capable of being strong and healthy!

How is Rise Up different from other exercise / diet / nutrition program you’ve tried in the past?

I have NEVER done a program where someone was guiding me each step of the way!

I even sent my coach a menu from a restaurant I would be visiting, and she would help me pick out a good meal.

I never felt deprived of anything, and even celebrated my daughters’ birthdays during Rise Up!

At times I was feeling “over it”, I found myself on the community Facebook page reaching out to others in the group and their support really helped! It seems silly, but there were so many shoulders to lean on when mine were feeling sore lol!

What would you say to someone reading this who feels stuck, frustrated or unsure how to reach their goals?

Make yourself your priority!

I know change seems hard, but making changes with the support of Results Fitness, the Rise Up coaches and community is fun and doable. The first week felt like it lasted 39 days, but after I got into the swing of things, it flew by!

Come week 6 I was like “Whoa!, that wasn’t so bad! If I can do that for 6 weeks I can do that forever!”

I can do hard things and so can you!
