Before Results Fitness, I was trying to lose weight for a number of years. It became cyclical, where I would lose quite a bit during spring and summer only to gain it back (and sometimes more) come winter. It didn’t help I was eating a lot of my own cooking and baking – hobbies I enjoy doing on the side – since most of what was being prepared was not very healthy.
One year before becoming a Results Fitness Warrior, I was finally able to not only lose weight, but keep it off. Though I was moving in the right direction, I felt stuck. I wanted to lose more weight and just feel better. Around the same time, Results Fitness was hosting a free group class – timing could not have been better! I decided to go, became hooked after my very first class and the rest is history!
WHAT HAPPENED WITH RISE UP
I joined Results Fitness in October, 2019 and a few months later, Rise Up In 6 Weeks began. My attitude about trying this program was the same about the free group class – it was worth a try!
Going into Rise Up, I knew it would mean making changes to my eating habits, and I wasn’t sure if this was something I could follow for the full 6 weeks. What helped me was going through the Rise Up cookbook, finding recipes I liked and spending time prepping and cooking. The most important part about eating habits is following the recommended portions.
Being new to Rise Up, I wasn’t sure what to expect but much like that first class, I really got into it all; becoming addicted to daily workouts as well as trying all the different recipes in the Rise Up cookbook. The structure of the program helped me create a consistent routine where I was exercising 5-6 days/week while focusing on eating appropriate sized meals. With each passing day, I felt better and better and could see how my body was changing (clothes were become loser).
The combination of regular exercise and changes to what I was eating (and how much) really helped with not only the weight I lost, but body fat as as well. When it came to staying motivated for the full 6 weeks, the support of my fellow RF Warriors and coaches proved to be a great incentive!
In 6 weeks, I lost 26 lbs, 21 lbs of fat, 3 inches off my waist, and had to buy all new clothes)! I became stronger – there was a noticeable difference in the weights I was using before / after Rise Up – and my stamina drastically improved. Most importantly, I felt better about myself! The continued support of fellow RF Warriors and coaches has kept me going long after completing the program.
