(makes 4 servings)
- 1 pound lean ground turkey breast
- 1/4 egg whites
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- favorite pizza toppings
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a medium-sized cast iron skillet with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg whites, and seasonings. Form into a large ball and then place into the prepared skillet. Once in the skillet, begin pressing the mixture into the pan until the bottom is covered.
- Bake the “crust” for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour the tomato sauce across the top of the crust and spread evenly. Top with desired toppings. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until toppings begin to brown or soften (veggies) and then sprinkle with parmesan cheese once removed from the oven.
