ERIN’S STORY OF HEALTH & HAPPINESS GLORY!

BEFORE RESULTS FITNESS

Let’s rewind to the beginning…

For the past 6 years, I have been pregnant or trying to get pregnant. And with each pregnancy, I’d immediately stop working out; making my best effort to get back to the gym incredibly hard. Though it was something I wanted to do, I could never find my “rhythm” and consistently get back into a steady routine.

Then the pandemic hit.

After having my second child in the height of the pandemic, I was really struggling mentally and physically. There was the whirlwind of the pandemic plus the constant battle in my head trying to navigate how I’d ever have time for ME again.

…Who would watch the kids so I could workout?

…How will I keep a handle on them while I prep all my meals and focus on good nutrition?

Then came summer. Stella, my 5 year old, was begging to go to the pool and play outside and who could blame her? We were just coming out of quarantine, she’s a kid and playing is what they do! Though I wanted to do these things for her and with her, I found myself saying “No” simply because of my own insecurities. I didn’t want to be in a bathing suit or wear clothes not consisting of leggings and a baggy t-shirt.

This was not fair to my kids, and I knew something had to change.

LIFE AS AN RF WARRIOR

My kids’ summer fun couldn’t be limited or restricted because of how I was feeling, and I did not want to feel or live this way for myself. I decided it was time to make a change and in June (2020) booked my free Strategy Session at Results Fitness, met with Jenna from the RF team and have NEVER looked back!

Logistically, my husband and I knew this would require some planning to make it all work with the kids’ schedules and our own so together, we sat down and figured it out.

Is it always perfect? No.

Do things something creep up because well life and kids?! Absolutely.

But it is more than manageable and a very small trade-off in exchange for giving myself time to get back into a consistent routine, work on my goals and build back my confidence. This time has helped me become a better me for myself, my husband and my kids.

Another piece of making this all work is being able to schedule my workouts 30 days in advance. Not only does this help us stay organized as a family, but allows me to reserve that time for myself.

My adventure as a Results Fitness Warrior started out with Small Group Personal Training. I was SO nervous at my first class, but everyone was so welcoming that those nerves went right out the window. For me personally, Small Group Personal Training was and still remains exactly what I need to get the best workout and even better results. In these sessions I get to work 1:1 with Coaches Josh or Melanie and get to do exercise programs that are customized for me. Getting to work with a coach also means I learn how to complete the exercises correctly and now feel confident when it comes to understanding how to strength train properly for my body.

Six months into my new fitness adventure, I was ready for the next challenge and completed the Rise Up in 6 Weeks total body transformation program in January 2021 to get back on track with healthy habits after the holiday season. A big piece of Rise Up is nutrition and learning how to make healthier eating habits part of your every day life without feeling restricted or limited. For me, nutrition was an area I knew I wanted to continue focusing on so once Rise Up ended, I started working with Coach Amie and just this month, finished the 12-week Personalized Nutrition Coaching program.

In those 12 weeks, I developed life long habits that now exist as part of my daily life. What I wanted to gain out of this program was food freedom: the ability to enjoy life without being super restricted and without having it throw me totally off track with my goals.

Before the program, I had a hard time with nutrition because I would always just “give up” if I had a day or 5 of bad eating. Since completing the program, this has changed because now I don’t let myself derail I just get back on track and stay as consistent as I can. Following an 80/20 rule has been very helpful.

My favorite part of the program is the accountability. The coaches TRULY care about you and want you to live and enjoy life (food) and it’s not at all a program of restrictions.

WHY RESULTS FITNESS IS DIFFERENT

Over the last year, I have learned so much having had the chance to focus not just on exercise, but nutrition and lifestyle choices that have all helped me work towards my personal goals.

I have become stronger and my exercise form and technique has gotten way better (thanks to Small Group Personal Training). I remember when I first started, my back would always hurt and now, having consistently been strength training, I can’t tell you the last time I had any pain in my back! Since starting in June 202, I’m down 7% body fat, lost 17 lbs of fat and down almost 30lbs!

Now Results Fitness is my favorite place, and I look forward to going. I feel a shift in my mood on days I’m not scheduled to go vs. the days I am. The people, the staff, the workouts – everything is top notch!

Although so much has happened since first starting at Results Fitness, I hesitated to share my before and after pictures with those who helped me get to where I am today. I do not feel like I am “done” yet but then I realized I can’t get to the finish line without acknowledging how far I‘ve already come!
