What was your biggest fear before signing up for Rise Up?
I was afraid that I would fail and not be able to stick to the program. I have a lot of food sensitivities and type 2 diabetes so I worried about not being able to follow the nutrition plan or control my sugar.
What made you decide to overcome those fears and RISE UP!?
I spoke to other people at Results Fitness who had done the program as well as the coaches. Before even starting the program, the support was there! Everyone helped me see and understand that I could make choices that fit the program.
Before Rise Up, what was getting in the way of reaching your goal?
I was eating too much food and a lot of processed food (due to my sugar). I stuck to things I knew would work; never branching out to try new things or find better alternatives.
How did Rise Up / Results Fitness help you overcome this stuff and succeed?
Before starting the program, there is a workshop where you learn what to do. During that workshop, Coach Amie encouraged us all to embrace the program and not half ass it.
She said, and I quote: “Whole Ass It!“. From that moment on, that was my motto, and I stuck with it!
Despite my fears, I truly went all in! I really wanted wanted to see if eating certain foods would help or hurt my sugar and guess what – they helped!
Rise Up helped me see that I could eat so many things – it taught how to properly fuel my body to feel better and keep my sugar in control.
Plus, the community aspect of Rise Up is unlike anything I had ever experienced. You go through this program with so many people and they all helped me overcome each struggle I encountered. Anytime I reached out to my coach or others with a question, someone was always there to help!
How is your life different now that you’ve completed Rise Up?
In 6 weeks I learned a lot about myself – that I can do hard things – and that it is “OK” to need help to do that!
In 6 weeks, I lost 16 lbs, 13 lbs of body fat, and2 inches off my waist! I have more energy, more confidence, feel good and am way more active on my non-workout days!
How is Rise Up different from other programs (exercise/diet/nutrition based) you’ve tried in the past?
Rise Up is a more balanced approach. Having done my first Rise Up, I can say that it is very doable and anyone can absolutely do the program and make it work!
Plus, you’re not dieting – you are eating whole/real/unprocessed foods and that makes a BIG difference – especially for someone like me with health issues.
What would you say to someone struggling with their health, fitness and nutrition who is looking for help but unsure what to do or where to start?
Do Rise Up – you can do it! You can do hard things, and there will always be an Results Fitness coach to help you and always someone who will have your back!
I promise you will be glad you did and guarantee if you put in the work – you will see the results!
