It’s easy to feel let down, frustrated and hopeless from diet and exercise programs promising “results of a lifetime” but failing on delivery since neither consider your unique lifestyle, personal challenges and needs. If you feel stuck finding a nutrition and exercise program that actually works, is fun and yields the results you want, you’re not alone.
We’ve all been there – that feeling of wanting to make a change, mustering up the courage to act on it and then feeling utterly disappointed because the experience was intimidating, overwhelming and not realistic or personal.
Maybe it’s because you don’t know how to exercise, or which exercises will drive the results you want. Comparatively, what seemed like an easy thing to “go at alone” suddenly isn’t fun anymore and no one is around to keep you focused, motivated and accountable. Or, maybe it’s a nutrition program that doesn’t take your schedule into account since you’re juggling a demanding job with your kids’ extra curriculars.
And, if you’re trying to make something work that doesn’t feel right, fit into your life or feels overwhelming, quitting becomes easier, so you chalk it up as a wash and begin to descend (again) down the rabbit hole.
You are not alone in this. But, what if you could find something that wasn’t a “one size fits all” approach? An exercise and nutrition program you love because it’s built for you– your lifestyle, your challenges, your schedule, and your needs.
Your health + fitness is not “one-size fits all”. It requires a customized approach, so you can learn how to effectively create a sustainable lifestyle to facilitate your personal health and fitness goals.
For Dom, getting started was the hardest part. It has been over 15 years since he stepped foot into a gym and, after graduating college, his career took precedent. As the years passed, it become a vicious cycle of early mornings, late nights and a whole lot of client wining and dining. Slowly, Dom was noticing a difference in the way he was looking and feeling. Those years of entertaining clients paired with no exercise and little sleep was catching up to him. After learning about his family’s pending arrival of baby #2, Dom experienced his “ah-ha” moment:
“How can I be a great dad if I keep on this path? When would I find the time for myself to exercise?”
From that moment on, Dom was adamant about getting back into shape before the birth of his second son.
THE FIRST STEP IS ALWAYS THE HARDEST
Dom met with the Results Fitness Team for his free Strategy Session – a 45 minute “meet and greet” to determine if Results felt like a good fit for his personal goals and what he was looking for. After his session, Dom signed up to become an RF Warrior and it was time to start training:
“Spoiler alert -I lied about the first visit being the hardest. It was actually the first 25 visits! During the Group Training Sessions, there were times when I thought death was imminent. I remember there were many days wondering if I’d be able to tie my shoes. But as Coach Josh always says ‘showing up is the hardest part’ so that’s what I did, every day, always mindful of why I started, and always thinking about my family.
Three months later I met with the Coaches for a second assessment and by time had lost 12 lbs., 15 lbs. of fat and increased my lean muscle mass by 4%. We welcomed our second son, Sonny, a week later and although I didn’t achieve my short-term goal of losing 15lbs, I was well on my way to achieving my long-term goal of improving my overall health, which was much more important.”
Two years later, Dom is still working out almost 5 days / week all while feeling great and having the energy to balance both personal and professional commitments. Admittedly, Dom knows this journey, although not always easy, will only empower him to be there for his family for years to come!

Like Dom, so many of us struggle with taking that first and sometimes very scary step. Gyms can be intimidating and no one likes feeling lost, judged or out of place. When it comes to your personal health + fitness and making a change, it’s truly about finding a space where you can thrive! A supportive community where you can genuinely be yourself, regardless of where you’re starting from. It’s about finding the perfect fit of people who actually care and want to see you succeed.
Meet a newer member of the Results Fitness community, we’ll call her RF She-Warrior, who, like Dom, had hesitations about getting started. Given her uncertainties, she opted to start with the RF Experience, a 30-day trial, to make sure it wouldn’t be like every other encounter with a gym she was accustomed to.
“Shockingly, I never felt overwhelmed or lost during any of my training sessions. The entire group is very nice and outgoing, and everyone seems to just be focused on their own work (vs. criticizing what other people are doing). There are some very fit and athletic people in the classes, but no one was a show-off or a jerk about how in (or out of) shape other people were. I never felt any pressure to do something that was too uncomfortable or “painful”. As an exercising adult, the workouts are very challenging (and I take some modifications) but do-able. I look forward to doing my year-long membership with Results Fitness!”
This is a prime example of how taking a leap of faith and that scary first step can unlock the door to living your happiest and healthiest life while proving that health + fitness is personal, and not “one-size fits all”. Since joining Results Fitness, this strong and resilient RF She-Warrior has never looked back and continues to progress on her journey towards the goals she committed to on the very first day she started. With focus, perseverance and a little help from a community of like-minded humans, there is no telling which new heights she will reach!
